Key Points for Daily Maintenance of Industrial Motherboards
Release time:2022-05-04 Click:78
Industrial motherboards are the core control units of industrial equipment. They often operate in harsh environments with high temperatures,
dust, electromagnetic interference, and 24/7 continuous running. Regular and proper maintenance can significantly extend the life of the
equipment and reduce the risk of downtime.
1、Dust and Heat Maintenance: Dust in industrial sites can easily accumulate on motherboard heatsinks, capacitors, and memory slots.
It's recommended to use dry compressed air to blow out the gaps on the boards weekly. Check if the heatsink fins are blocked and if the
fan speed is normal. Replace thermal paste every 6-8 months to prevent high temperatures from causing chip throttling and capacitor
bulging or failure.
2、Interface and Circuit Check: Regularly unplug and clean network ports, COM ports, PCIe expansion slots, and USB industrial interfaces.
Use anhydrous alcohol to wipe metal contacts to remove oxidation. Tighten motherboard screws to prevent loose connections due to
vibration, which can cause data transmission interruptions or device malfunctions.
3、Power Supply and Environment Control: Inspect motherboard power capacitors for bulging or leakage and check if power input terminals
are overheating or turning black. Control the temperature and humidity inside the cabinet — keep temperatures at 0-45℃ and humidity at
20%-80% without condensation. Use desiccants in humid environments to prevent short circuits and motherboard damage.
4、Regular System Firmware Check: Backup motherboard BIOS firmware every quarter, check driver programs, and update industrial
system patches. Clean on-board storage caches to avoid lag or crashes caused by accumulated data from long-term operation, ensuring
stable and continuous production line operation.
